The Hobie Outfitter is a Sit on Top Kayak with 2 sets of Hobie's unique Mirage Drive pedal systems. The Outfitter takes the sports utility design of the Hobie Outback and adapts it making the ultimate in tandem sit on top kayaks. The Hobie Outfitter features, amongst others, 2 high back seats, two 8" twist-lock hatches, a large rear storage area and of course 2 Mirage Drive pedal systems. The Outfitter is a very versatile craft with a number of pedalling/paddling combinations or when you both want a break simply unfurl Hobie's optional sail system.
The Hobie Mirage drive consists of two adjustable foot pedals connected to the two drive fins. The fins act like a penguin's flippers and have a 180 degree range of motion making them a very efficient way to move through the water.
